The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1998 as a complementary course for B.Sc Physics. In 1999 the department started offering complementary course for B.Sc Mathematics.

From the year 2024 onwards, the department provides Minor and MDC Courses as part of Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP)  

The department has a well-equipped, spacious computer lab with 20kVA UPS support.
