The Department of chemistry is established in the year 2004 with a major objective of promoting under graduate and post graduate studies in chemistry in the backward rural areas of northern district of Kerala. Our department offers a three-year bachelor degree programme (B.Sc. Chemistry) and a recently sanctioned new generation programme at post-graduate level(M.Sc. Chemistry with drug chemistry specialization).
The admission to the course is strictly based on merit and statutory reservationis given to the SC/ST, OBC, BPL, EWS and sports candidates as per Government rules. The Department has a well equipped experimental and a computational laboratory.
